1. Identity & Access

When you sign up for Rentopiaa, we only ask for your name and email address. This information is used to personalize your account and to send you invoices, updates, or other essential information. We will never sell your personal information to third parties, nor will we use your name in marketing statements without your permission.
When you pay for Rentopiaa, we request your credit card information to process the payment. Your credit card details are passed directly to our payment processor and do not go through our servers. We store a record of the payment transaction, including the last four digits of the credit card number, for account history, invoicing, and billing support.
When you contact Rentopiaa with a question or request for help, we keep that correspondence and your email address for future reference. When you browse our marketing pages, we track this for statistical purposes, such as conversion rates and testing new designs. We also store any information you volunteer, such as survey responses, for as long as it makes sense.
We will only share your information in the following situations:

  • To investigate, prevent, or take action regarding illegal activities, suspected fraud, situations involving potential threats to the physical safety of any person, or violations of our Terms of Service.
  • If Rentopiaa is acquired by or merged with another company. In such an event, we will notify you before any information about you is transferred and becomes subject to a different privacy policy.

2. Your Rights With Respect to Your Information

Under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) in Europe, individuals have certain rights regarding their personal information collected by us. Rentopiaa recognizes and will comply with GDPR and these rights, except as limited by applicable law. These rights include:

  • Right of Access: You have the right to access the personal information we collect about you and to obtain information about the sharing, storage, security, and processing of that information.
  • Right to Correction: You have the right to request the correction of your personal information.
  • Right to Erasure: You have the right to request that your personal information be erased from our possession, subject to certain limitations under applicable law. However, fulfilling your request may prevent you from using Rentopiaa services and may result in the closure of your account.
  • Right to Complain: You have the right to lodge a complaint with the appropriate supervisory authority regarding our handling of your personal information.
  • Right to Restrict Processing: You have the right to request the restriction of how and why your personal information is used or processed.
  • Right to Object: You have the right, in certain situations, to object to how or why your personal information is processed.
  • Right to Portability: You have the right to receive the personal information we have about you and the right to transmit it to another party.
  • Right to not be subject to Automated Decision-Making: You have the right to object to and prevent any decision that could have a legal or similarly significant effect on you from being made solely based on automated processes. This right is limited if the decision is necessary for the performance of any contract between you and us, is allowed by applicable European law, or is based on your explicit consent.

Many of these rights can be exercised by signing in and directly updating your account information.

3. Law Enforcement

Rentopiaa will not hand your data over to law enforcement unless a court order requires us to do so. We reject requests from local and federal law enforcement when they seek data without a court order. Unless legally prevented, we will always inform you when such requests are made.

4. Security & Encryption

All data is encrypted using SSL/TLS when transmitted from our servers to your browser. Database backups are also encrypted. While data is not encrypted when live in our database (as it needs to be ready to send to you when needed), we take extensive measures to secure your data at rest.

5. Deleted Data

When you cancel your account, we ensure that nothing is stored on our servers past 30 days. Any data you delete from your account while it is active will also be purged within 30 days.
